Short-Fit Carbon Performance for Dirty Paths

After three years of design, development and testing on race courses throughout Europe, the Alpitude Navene brings full-carbon, ultralight performance to XC mountain biking and gravel riding.

Its carbon layup is tuned to flex through the outer sections for greater comfort, while the centre remains firmer to provide support and help manage impacts from rough gravel roads and XC trails.

The supporting edges are 50% wider than those of Alpitude’s Gardena road saddle, giving you a more stable platform when the surface becomes rough or your riding position changes.

At 245mm long, Navene’s short-fit geometry gives you room to move while maintaining a compact and efficient riding position. Its low weight, supportive shape and controlled flexibility also make it an outstanding option for lightweight road-bike builds.

Each Navene is individually handmade in Italy using a full carbon fibre shell, crafted one at a time and cured under high pressure.

“The Navene saddle is perfect: light, rigid but at the same time comfortable.”

Mirko Tabacchi – Pro XC Rider

“I have tried different saddles. Navene has been my choice for the last three seasons.”

Lorena Zocca – XC Rider

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Navene an MTB saddle?

Yes. The Navene is engineered for XC mountain biking and gravel riding and has been tested on race courses throughout Europe. It is intended for XC use rather than aggressive trail, enduro or downhill riding.

Is the Navene suitable for road cycling?

Yes. Although developed primarily for XC and gravel racing, the Navene’s compact shape, supportive shell and controlled carbon flexibility also make it suitable for lightweight road-bike builds.

Can a full-carbon saddle be comfortable?

Navene’s carbon layup allows the outer sections to flex for comfort while maintaining a firmer, supportive centre. Its supporting edges are also 50% wider than those of Alpitude’s Gardena road saddle. Saddle comfort remains personal and depends on selecting the correct width and position.

Which width should I choose?

Choose between 130mm and 142mm based on your sit-bone measurement, riding position and current saddle fit. The wider saddle is not automatically more comfortable; the correct support width is what matters.

Will the carbon rails fit my seatpost?

Navene uses oversized 7×9mm carbon rails. Your seatpost clamp must be compatible with oval 7×9mm rails. Some seatposts require a separate carbon-rail clamp kit.

How tightly should the saddle rails be clamped?

The maximum permitted clamping torque is 6Nm. Always use the lower torque figure if your seatpost manufacturer specifies less than 6Nm.

What is the maximum rider weight?

The Alpitude Navene has a maximum rider weight limit of 95kg.

Are both saddle widths available now?

Yes. Both the 130mm and 142mm Navene saddles are currently available to order.

Is the Navene kept in stock?

Each Navene is handmade to order by Alpitude in Italy. Current orders are expected to ship from Italy in approximately two weeks.
