This is why we stock the Schmolke TLO Gravel. It puts remarkably little weight into a wide gravel rim, giving the bike the kind of wheel we want for a route that never stays at one speed.

185g less in the bare rims

Two TLO Gravel rims weigh around 640g. The Reserve 40|44 GR rims total 825g. Schmolke takes 185g out of the part of the wheel that has the greatest effect on rotational inertia. Every time you accelerate out of a loose turn or stand up for a short climb, that is where the design counts.

Schmolke gives 40–45mm gravel tyres a 29mm internal platform without piling on rim weight. Reserve builds a much deeper profile around aerodynamics. For a weekend of loose corners, rough stretches and short climbs, the TLO is the wheelset we want on the bike.

At 1,290g with DT 180 hubs, TLO Gravel is a very light complete build. Its 120kg system limit covers rider, bike and kit. Schmolke makes the carbon rims in Germany and builds the wheels in its Konstanz workshop with Sapim CX-Ray spokes.
