A.S.S. Slider - do it!
If you run a top tube bag but hate straps, this is the cleaner way to do it.
The 76 Projects A.S.S. Slider (Anti-Strap System) is a quick-release rail that lets your bag slide on, click in, and come off in seconds — without re-threading Velcro every ride.
⚡ Slide on / off
🔒 Positive lock click
🧼 Clean strap-free look
🛠 Adhesive + optional screws
How it works
It’s a two-piece system:
- Base rail mounts to the top tube
- Bag plate attaches to your bag
Once installed, your bag slides forward until it clicks into place. Remove it and the bike is left with a minimal low-profile rail.
Mounting options
Bond + screw (best option)
If your frame has top tube bosses, you can use both:
- Adhesive pad for full contact and stability
- Countersunk screws into bosses for mechanical security
That combination is about as solid as it gets for a quick-release bag system.
Adhesive only
No bosses? No problem.
The supplied custom-cut VHB adhesive pads bond directly to the top tube — the same style of bonding approach riders already trust on 76 Projects’ most popular mounts (including the Enduro Mounts).
Important: follow the install steps and allow the adhesive to cure properly before riding.
Why it’s better than straps
- Bag stays straight — less sway when steering
- No headtube strap required for small bags / bento boxes
- Cleaner look when the bag is off the bike
- No constant re-tensioning and strap alignment
Bag compatibility
Best suited to:
- Tri bento boxes
- Bolt-on style top tube bags
- Semi-rigid fuel pods
- Many strap bags that can be converted (stiffer bags work best)
If you’re converting a non-bolt-on bag, stiffer bags tend to work better than very soft bags.

FAQs
Is the A.S.S. Clip still available?
No — the Clip has been discontinued. This product is now the Slider system.
Do I need top tube bosses?
No. You can install it using adhesive only. If you do have bosses, you can add the screws for extra mechanical security.
Is the adhesive safe on carbon frames?
Yes, when installed properly on a clean surface and allowed to cure fully. Take your time with prep and curing — that’s what determines long-term hold.
Will it rattle or slide around?
No. Once aligned and installed correctly, the bag engages with a positive lock click and stays stable in use.
Will I need a headtube strap as well?
For small bags and bento boxes, typically no. Larger/taller bags or very soft bags may still benefit from additional front stabilization depending on load and bag stiffness.
Can I convert a strap-on bag to work with the Slider?
Often yes. In our experience, stiffer bags convert best. Very soft bags may not hold shape as well when loaded.
Can it be removed later?
Yes, but treat it as semi-permanent. Adhesive removal typically requires careful heat and cleanup.
