The safest Gelu starting point
The A-Series is one of the easiest Gelu saddles to recommend because it gives you the main Gelu benefits without going straight to the most extreme saddle in the range.
It is light, strong and versatile, with a 250mm platform, 124mm width and 40mm nose width. That makes it a strong option for riders who want one saddle shape that can work across different bikes and riding styles.
Built for versatility
The A-Series was designed as a true all-rounder. It works across road, gravel, MTB, triathlon, recreation and urban bikes, depending on the model.
The short nose and rear saddle shape also make it well suited to triathlon setups, especially where the saddle needs to sit cleanly in transition-zone supports.
Different rail structure
The A-Series uses a different rail configuration to other Gelu saddles. The oval carbon rails work like a frame, giving the saddle its support structure while allowing the top cover to sit cleanly over the rail layout.
The result is a saddle that keeps weight very low while still giving you a stronger and more versatile platform than the pure minimal Gelu shapes.
A-Series model options
The A-Series is available in two main versions: A1 and A3.
- A1: approx. 60g, 115kg rider limit, the most versatile A-Series option for road, gravel, MTB, triathlon, recreation and urban bikes.
- A3: approx. 52g, 115kg rider limit, the lighter A-Series option for riders who want the same shape with lower weight.
Which A-Series model should you choose?
Choose the A1 if you want the safest all-round Gelu recommendation. It is the better starting point if you want one saddle for road, gravel, MTB, triathlon or mixed riding.
Choose the A3 if you like the A-Series shape but want to push the weight lower. It is the better option for road bikes, lightweight builds and riders chasing a cleaner weight-focused setup.
Custom finish available
Gelu saddles can be customised with colours, names, logos and personal design details. That makes the A-Series a strong option for riders who want the saddle to look like it belongs on the bike, not like an afterthought.

If you want the most versatile Gelu saddle, start with the A-Series. If you want the absolute lightest saddle in the Gelu range, look at the K-Series. If you want more flex or a more comfort-focused shape, the J-Series, F-Series or C-Series may be a better fit.
Gelu A-Series FAQs
Who is the Gelu A-Series best for?
The A-Series is best for riders who want the most versatile Gelu saddle shape. It suits road, gravel, MTB, triathlon and lightweight performance builds where strength, low weight and flexibility matter.
What is the difference between the A1 and A3?
The A1 is approx. 60g and is the safest all-round A-Series option. The A3 is approx. 52g and is the lighter version of the same A-Series concept. Both have a 115kg rider limit.
Should I choose the A1 or A3?
Choose the A1 if you want the most versatile option for mixed riding. Choose the A3 if you want the lighter A-Series option for a road or weight-focused build.
Is the A-Series suitable for gravel?
Yes. The A1 is the better A-Series choice for gravel and mixed-surface riding because it is the broader all-round option. The A3 can also suit riders chasing a lighter setup.
Is the A-Series suitable for triathlon?
Yes. The A-Series shape has a shorter nose and rear design that suits triathlon use, including bikes that need to sit neatly in transition-zone supports.
Does the A-Series have pressure relief?
Yes. The A-Series uses a central opening designed to reduce pressure through the middle of the saddle and improve comfort for riders who suit this style of shape.
Will the carbon rails fit my seatpost?
The A-Series uses oval 6.5mm x 8.5mm carbon rails. Your seatpost must be compatible with oval carbon rails, not just standard round metal rails.
Can I customise the Gelu A-Series?
Yes. Gelu saddles can be customised with colours, names, logos and personal design details. This is one of the big reasons to choose Gelu over a standard off-the-shelf carbon saddle.
What if the A-Series is not the right Gelu saddle for me?
The A-Series is the safest all-round starting point in the Gelu range. If you want a different feel, the rest of the Gelu range is easier to understand by shape:
K-Series: lightest, flattest and most minimal Gelu saddle shape.
E-Series: compact support option.
P-Series: TT and triathlon shape for forward riding positions.
J-Series: carbon spring comfort shape for rough roads and longer rides.
F-Series: flatter carbon spring comfort shape.
S-Series: longer platform for riders who move around more.
C-Series: classic spring-inspired comfort shape.
Combo K: integrated saddle and seatpost system.
R-Series: new ultralight platform with longer rails and more adjustment range.
