The extra large diameter makes these full carbon MTB Flatbars extra stiff which is especially perfect for wider bars. They are made with a 200 mm middle section and grip sections with a 6° backsweep. These bars are competition proven in mountainbike races all over the world. As with all Schmolke products, the goal in developing this handlebar was maximum strength and performance at the lightest weight possible. Made to suit your bodyweight and personal riding style we use the best pre-pregs available today, with up to 16 layers of carbon fibre in the middle section (about carbon). All handlebars are unpainted to further reduce weight. Stems with 31.8 mm clamping diameter including those with four clamping bolts may be used. Our extra-light 21 mm carbon plugs are designed to fit these bars.

Ordering
Our bars may only be shortened by up to 10 mm on each side, so it is essential that you make sure to order the right width for your requirements. Bar ends cannot be used on these bars! If you are not sure about using bar-ends, the SL version which is 30 g heavier and thicker bar-ends might be the better option. The TLO bars, which do not have the option to fit bar-ends, are not stressed as much as the SL version. This is particularly true in case of a crash. Hence the lighter TLO version is even stronger than the SL version!
Weave options
TLO handlebars can be ordered in 1k or UD weave. 1k is the classic carbon look with biaxially woven fibres. UD (unidirectional) describes a more subtle all-black “non-woven” carbon look where all fibres run in one direction. In general UD carbon parts will be a few grams heavier compared to their 1k counterparts. Find out more about UD and 1k here.
