The Schmolke TLO Gravel turns a premium gravel bike into a sharper, faster-reacting machine.
At just 1,290g with DT Swiss 180 hubs, it cuts the rotating weight you feel when the trail rises, the pace changes or you accelerate out of a loose corner. The current 29mm internal rim gives modern gravel tyres the support needed to turn that speed into confident control.
Less weight every time the pace changes
Gravel rarely rewards steady-state speed alone. Short climbs, repeated accelerations, changing surfaces and slow corners constantly ask you to rebuild momentum.
A 1,290g wheelset makes those efforts feel more immediate. The bike responds sooner under power and carries less wheel weight up every rise.
- Quicker response when accelerating
- Less rotating weight on repeated climbs
- Sharper handling through changing terrain
- Premium hubs that roll exceptionally smoothly
The current 29mm gravel rim
The current TLO Gravel rim is 35mm wide externally and 29mm internally. That wider platform supports the shape of 40 to 45mm gravel tyres, helping the tyre remain composed when pressures are lowered for grip and comfort.
Its shallow 27mm depth keeps the rim weight to approximately 320g. Schmolke gets the weight out where it matters most, at the outside of the wheel.
DT Swiss 180 at the centre
DT Swiss 180 Center Lock hubs bring SINC ceramic bearings, Ratchet EXP internals and proven serviceability to Schmolke's lightest gravel platform. They are smooth, precise and built for riders who expect flagship hardware throughout the wheelset.
Hand-built for real gravel riding
Schmolke manufactures the carbon rims in Germany, then laces and tensions each wheelset in its Konstanz workshop. Standard and Boost hub spacing are available, and the 120kg system limit gives the TLO Gravel genuine everyday capability.
