A 500mm gravel handlebar with genuine off-road control at a published weight of just 187g.

The Darimo Ellipse Gravel gives you more leverage across loose, rough and technical terrain without adding the usual weight of an extra-wide gravel cockpit.

Rather than using heavily flared drops, Darimo makes the entire handlebar 500mm wide. Your hands remain in a more natural alignment while you gain the stability and steering control of a significantly wider position.

500mm wide. Reinforced for gravel. Still only 187g.

More control without a heavy front end

The 500mm width gives you more leverage when the surface becomes loose, steep or unpredictable. It makes it easier to settle the bike beneath you and hold your line through rougher terrain.

At just 187g, the Ellipse Gravel delivers that control without turning the front of a premium gravel build into a weight penalty.

Wide rather than heavily flared

Many gravel handlebars create their extra width by pushing the drops sharply outwards. The Ellipse Gravel takes a different approach.

Its wide, non-flared shape keeps the hoods and drops aligned more naturally while providing the broader stance needed for demanding gravel riding. The compact 77mm reach and 128mm drop also keep the controls and drops easy to access.

A dedicated gravel laminate

The Ellipse Gravel is not simply the Road bar stretched to 500mm.

Darimo uses a different reinforced carbon laminate developed for more intensive off-road use. Bidirectional and unidirectional carbon layers are positioned by hand according to the load carried by each area of the handlebar.

This targeted construction allows Darimo to produce a strong, wide gravel handlebar without covering the entire component in unnecessary carbon.

Stem and bike compatibility

The Ellipse Gravel uses a standard 31.8mm clamp. Darimo recommends a four-bolt stem faceplate with a clamping width no greater than 50mm.

The standard handlebar routes brake hoses and gear cables through external channels underneath the bar. It is not designed for bikes that require full internal brake-hose routing through the handlebar and stem.

Pair it with the Darimo IX2 or IX4 Carbon Stem to build a complete ultralight split cockpit.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the Ellipse Gravel 500mm wide?

The extra width provides more leverage and steering control across loose, rough and technical terrain. It gives the rider a broader, more stable position without relying on heavily flared drops.

Is the handlebar flared?

No. The Ellipse Gravel uses a wide 500mm shape with no flare. This keeps the hands more naturally aligned through the hoods and drops.

Is this just a wider Ellipse Road?

No. It shares the Road bar’s compact geometry, but the Gravel version uses a different reinforced laminate developed for more demanding off-road use.

Is 187g the exact finished weight?

It is Darimo’s published benchmark with a tolerance of ±3%. Carbon finish and any requested custom reinforcement can affect the final weight.

Does it have internal brake-hose routing?

No. The standard bar uses external underside channels for brake hoses and gear cables. Optional holes can be added for internal electronic-shifting cables.

What is the system weight limit?

The standard limit is 110kg including rider, bike and luggage. Darimo can manufacture a more heavily reinforced custom version when required.

Will it suit every gravel bike?

It suits bikes using a separate 31.8mm stem and compatible external hose routing. Bikes designed exclusively around proprietary or fully internal cockpits require a compatibility check.

Does it require professional installation?

Yes. The Ellipse Gravel must be installed using compatible clamps, carbon assembly paste, the supplied instructions and the specified torque settings.

More control. Far less handlebar.
