Pair the 420mm Ellipse with a 100mm Darimo IX4 carbon stem and the published component weights total just 205g. That gives you a complete separate handlebar and stem combination with the freedom to adjust your position properly.

Compact shape without an extreme position
The Ellipse uses a compact 77mm reach and 128mm drop. This reduces the distance between your primary hand positions and makes the drops more accessible without forcing an excessively deep or stretched riding position.
The upper section is flattened to provide a broader contact area when climbing or riding on the tops. External channels underneath the bar guide brake hoses and gear cables beneath the tape.
Carbon placed for a reason
Darimo combines bidirectional and unidirectional carbon, changing the number, position and orientation of the layers throughout the handlebar.
Each laminate is placed by hand to deliver the required strength and stiffness without carrying unnecessary material through the entire bar. The result is an extraordinarily light road handlebar that exceeds the applicable ISO 4210 testing requirements.

Stem compatibility
The Ellipse uses a standard 31.8mm clamp. Darimo recommends a four-bolt stem faceplate with a clamping width no greater than 50mm.

Why choose this instead of an integrated cockpit?
The Ellipse delivers an exceptionally light cockpit while allowing you to select and change your stem length and angle independently. It is the better option when low weight and precise bike fit are equally important.
How wide is the handlebar?
Road widths are available from 360mm to 440mm in 20mm increments. Darimo measures the width from centre to centre.
Does it have full internal cable routing?
No. The standard Ellipse uses channels underneath the handlebar for brake hoses and gear cables. Optional holes can be added for internal electronic-shifting cables, but the bar is not designed for full internal brake-hose routing.
What is the weight limit?
The standard system weight limit is 110kg, including the rider, bike and luggage. A reinforced custom laminate is available when the standard specification does not suit the required system weight.
Can clip-on aero extensions be fitted?
Only when the handlebar is ordered with Darimo’s specific reinforcement for aero extensions. Extensions must not be fitted to the standard version.
Does it require professional installation?
Yes. The Ellipse must be installed using compatible clamps, carbon assembly paste, the supplied Darimo instructions and the specified torque settings.
