250g. Fully integrated. Shaped for speed.

The Schmolke Roadbar Cockpit Aero TLO brings aerodynamic shaping, complete cable integration and exceptionally low weight together in one premium carbon cockpit.

It cleans up the leading edge of your bike, gives you access to a narrower race position and delivers the direct steering response expected from a one-piece cockpit. At just 250g in the 420 x 100mm configuration, the Aero TLO proves an aero cockpit does not need to be heavy.

Just 250g for the complete 420 x 100mm cockpit

Aero-shaped profile cleans up the front of the bike

380mm width option supports a narrower race position

Full internal routing hides the brake hoses completely

An aero cockpit without the usual bulk

The cockpit is one of the first parts of the bike to meet the airflow. Schmolke gives the Aero TLO a flattened upper profile and routes the brake hoses internally through the handlebar and stem.

Instead of exposed hoses and a separate handlebar and stem interrupting the front end, the Aero TLO creates one smooth carbon structure. The result is a cleaner aerodynamic profile and the fully integrated appearance a flagship road bike deserves.

A narrower path through the air

Available in 380, 400 and 420mm widths, the Aero TLO gives performance riders access to the narrower cockpit sizing now favoured on modern race bikes.

When it suits your riding position, the 380mm option reduces frontal width and helps bring the arms into a more compact position. Schmolke does not publish a wind-tunnel watt figure, so we will not invent one. The genuine performance advantage is the combination of aero shaping, hidden hoses and narrower sizing.

Low enough for speed. Shallow enough to use.

The Aero TLO uses a compact 77mm reach and shallow 119mm drop. This keeps the drops accessible, helping you use your faster position without being forced excessively low.

A subtle 6-degree flare creates a more natural wrist position in the drops. On the hoods, the near-horizontal front curve forms a smooth transition into the brake levers, helping reduce wrist pressure during longer rides.

250g with the rigidity to race

Low weight is only useful if the cockpit still gives you confidence when sprinting, climbing out of the saddle or driving the bike through a fast corner.

Schmolke engineers the one-piece Aero TLO for extreme rigidity with minimal material. At a claimed 250g in the 420 x 100mm size, it provides a direct connection between your hands and the front wheel without burdening a lightweight build with a heavy cockpit.

Carbon placed where the loads demand it

Schmolke hand-winds the Aero TLO from premium prepreg carbon using a load-specific layup refined through more than 30 years of carbon manufacturing.

Up to 17 carbon layers reinforce the highly stressed centre section. Lower-stress areas of the drops use as few as five layers. Material is concentrated where strength and rigidity are required instead of carrying unnecessary carbon throughout the entire cockpit.

The matte 1K carbon is left unpainted to avoid unnecessary weight. Schmolke also states that the exposed epoxy surface is more resistant to scratching than a painted finish.

Choose the Aero TLO if you want

  • A lightweight aero cockpit for a premium road bike
  • A narrow 380mm option for a compact race position
  • A shallow drop that remains accessible during long rides
  • Direct steering from a rigid one-piece carbon structure
  • Fully hidden brake hoses
  • A cockpit that visually finishes the bike

The Aero TLO is not the cheapest Schmolke cockpit and it is not the absolute lightest. It is the choice for riders who want aerodynamic shaping, race-focused sizing and low weight in the same cockpit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the Aero TLO weigh?

Schmolke claims 250g for the 420mm handlebar with a 100mm stem. Weight may vary between the different width and stem-length combinations.

How does Schmolke measure handlebar width?

Schmolke measures the Aero TLO from outside to outside. Check the measurement method used for your current handlebar before selecting the equivalent width.

What is the difference between the Aero TLO and Roadbar TLO?

The Aero TLO has the more aerodynamic upper profile, a narrower 380mm option, longer available stems and a shallower 119mm drop. The standard Roadbar TLO is lighter at 222g and uses more traditional road geometry.

Does it have fully internal cable routing?

Yes. The Aero TLO is designed for fully internal ICR routing, with entry points near the brake levers and central routing through the stem.

Can I fit clip-on aero extensions?

No. Schmolke states that its roadbar cockpits are not designed for clip-on triathlon or time-trial extensions.

What does the 110kg system limit include?

System weight includes the rider, bicycle and all equipment carried on the bike.

Which logo colours are available?

The matte 1K carbon cockpit is available with black or white Schmolke logos.

How do I choose the correct configuration?
