The Best Pinarello Dogma F Upgrades: Build a Bike Beyond Top of the Range

Beyond the factory build

Your Dogma F is top of the Pinarello range. Its components should be too.

The Pinarello Dogma F gives you an exceptional frame. Schmolke, Darimo, Gelu and Alpitude give you the opportunity to turn it into a lighter, more responsive and properly bespoke superbike that cannot be ordered from a standard factory specification.

The Pinarello Dogma F is one of the most desirable road bikes in the world, but buying the flagship frame does not mean every component attached to it is the lightest or most exclusive option available.

Factory builds must satisfy production targets, supplier agreements and broad commercial requirements. Your Dogma F does not. It can be built around one objective: delivering the performance, weight and finish you want from your ultimate road bike.

What can you change?

  • Remove substantial rotational weight with Schmolke TLO 50 wheels
  • Replace the standard seatpost with a handmade 100g Darimo post
  • Fit an aero-integrated Darimo cockpit from approximately 226g
  • Reduce saddle weight to approximately 38g to 69g
  • Finish the bike with Italian carbon cages weighing just 9.5g each

1. Schmolke TLO 50 wheels: the upgrade that transforms the Dogma F

If you make only one major upgrade to a Dogma F, make it the wheels. Wheel weight influences how quickly the bike accelerates, responds to changes in pace and feels beneath you when the road rises.

The Schmolke TLO 50 combines the speed expected from a 50mm aero wheel with a weight that most shallow climbing wheels cannot match.

32.5mm
External width

This is precisely what a Dogma F needs. You retain a deep, modern rim profile suited to a high-speed race bike without carrying the weight commonly associated with 50mm wheels.

  • Approximately 940g with Extralite or NONPLUS hubs
  • Approximately 1,025g with DT Swiss 180 hubs
  • Hooked, tubeless-ready rims for practical tyre compatibility
  • Carbon spokes for low weight and immediate response
  • 29mm and wider tyres supported by the broad rim platform
  • Made in Germany with your choice of hubs, freehub and decals

What you feel on the road

The Dogma F becomes quicker to bring up to speed, more responsive when the bunch accelerates and significantly lighter beneath you on climbs. You are not sacrificing the deep-wheel appearance or aerodynamic intent of the bike to achieve it.

2. Darimo Dogma F seatpost: remove weight from a component made specifically for the bike

A flagship frameset deserves more than a generic replacement seatpost. The Darimo carbon seatpost for the Pinarello Dogma F is shaped specifically for the frame and individually laminated by hand in Spain.

Approximately 100g

A proper Dogma-specific component, available in the length, offset and carbon finish required for your build.

Each area of the post uses a different arrangement of carbon layers according to the load it must carry. The objective is not simply to use less material. It is to put the necessary material exactly where it is needed and remove it where it is not.

  • Dogma F-specific profile
  • 0mm or 15mm setback
  • 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm or custom length
  • UD or 3K carbon finish
  • Matte or gloss clear coat
  • Carbon cradle, titanium bolts and 7075 aluminium hardware
  • Handmade in Spain

Important: the standard version has a 90kg total system limit. Darimo can assess and reinforce posts for heavier riders, so the post must be specified for the rider rather than selected on weight alone.

3. Darimo Nexum Drag: a lighter cockpit built for your position

The cockpit is one of the defining visual features of a modern superbike. It also affects fit, frontal area, steering response and overall build weight.

The Darimo Nexum Drag integrated cockpit provides the aerodynamic shape expected on a Dogma F while starting from approximately 226g in a 380mm x 100mm configuration.

226g

That is the complete integrated handlebar and stem, not the handlebar alone.

  • Widths from 360mm to 440mm
  • Stem lengths from 70mm to 130mm
  • Aero-optimised one-piece carbon construction
  • Internal electronic cable routing
  • UD or 3K carbon in matte or gloss
  • ISO 4210-2 tested
  • Handmade to order in Spain

Dogma F compatibility matters

The Nexum Drag is available with a specific Pinarello road configuration. The correct cockpit dimensions, routing and integration components must be confirmed for the exact Dogma F model before ordering. This is a made-to-order upgrade, not a universal cockpit that should be purchased by guesswork.

4. Gelu saddle: take the Dogma F into true weight-weenie territory

The saddle is one of the easiest places to remove a meaningful amount of static weight without changing the character of the frame or drivetrain.

For the rider who wants the most extreme result, the Gelu K-Series starts from approximately 38g. If you want a more versatile shape and a higher rider limit, the Gelu A-Series weighs approximately 52g to 60g.

From approximately 38g

The uncompromising choice for the lightest possible Dogma F build.

Gelu A-Series

Approximately 52g–60g

The broader all-round Gelu option, with a 115kg rider limit and central pressure-relief opening.

Gelu saddles can also be customised with colours, names and logos. That gives the Dogma F something a factory saddle cannot provide: a finishing component made specifically for the rider and the individual build.

5. Alpitude Gardena: Italian carbon for an Italian superbike

Not every Dogma F owner wants the most minimal saddle available. The Alpitude Gardena carbon saddle provides another route to an exceptionally light build.

At approximately 69g, the Gardena combines a full-carbon construction with a deep pressure-relief channel and tuned flex. It is handmade in Italy by one of the most exciting boutique carbon manufacturers in cycling.

Why choose Alpitude?

  • Approximately 69g
  • Handmade in the Italian Dolomites
  • Full-carbon construction
  • Deep central pressure relief
  • Boutique production rather than mass manufacturing

6. Alpitude Superleggero cages: finish the build properly

A Dogma F build should not end with ordinary bottle cages bolted onto an extraordinary bike.

The Alpitude Superleggero weighs approximately 9.5g per cage before its included titanium screws. A pair adds only around 19g to the bike while giving the build a properly resolved carbon finish.

  • Approximately 9.5g per cage
  • T800 Toray carbon construction
  • Black Grade 5 titanium screws included
  • UD, 1K and 6K carbon finishes
  • Handmade in Italy

The ultimate Pinarello Dogma F upgrade package

These are not random weight-saving parts. Each upgrade has a clear job within the build.

Schmolke TLO 50

Remove rotational weight while retaining a fast 50mm aero profile.

Darimo seatpost

Reduce weight with a component built specifically for the Dogma F.

Nexum Drag

Combine low weight, aerodynamic shaping and individually selected fit.

Gelu or Alpitude saddle

Remove unnecessary weight and give the bike a truly boutique finishing component.

Superleggero cages

Complete the build without adding back weight through overlooked components.

The final weight saving depends on the original wheels, cockpit, saddle and finishing kit already fitted to your Dogma F. The result, however, goes beyond the number shown on the scales.

You get a bike that accelerates more sharply, carries less weight uphill and feels far more individual than a factory flagship build. Most importantly, you get a Dogma F equipped to the same uncompromising standard as its frame.
